Ocean City is located on the New Jersey Shore between Atlantic City and Cape May. This charming beach resort is well-known as being a family town.  In 2005, the Travel Channel rated Ocean City as the Best Family Beach and in the 2009 Top 10 Beaches Contest, Ocean City ranked first.  This beach resort has 8 miles of  ocean and bay beaches. The beaches are clean and many are guarded . The island has four entrances  - the North side, the South side, the 34 Street, and the 9th Street entrance. Ocean City has a wooden boardwalk that stretches for 2.5 miles. The boardwalk has shopping, food, family amusements, mini golf, and a water park . In the morning, you can take a bike or surrey ride down the boardwalk with the family. (There are rental places for the bikes if you don't have your own.)  Ocean City also has a downtown shopping area with many unique stores and dining options. The city offers many events all year round. These events are great for all ages. The 9th Street entrance is at the heart of the boardwalk and and the shopping along Asbury Ave. On the 9th street bridge there is a walk way looking over the bay connecting the two cities. Sleepy Hollow is 4 miles from the 9th street entrance and just 7 miles to the 9th Street beaches and boardwalk.
